InfraChallenge 2021 invited ideas for building and maintaining better, more resilient infrastructure. Discover who made the Top 20.
InfraChallenge applications closed in March 2021 and the Global Infrastructure Hub (GI Hub) received high-calibre entries from 30 countries, encompassing solutions for transport, energy, social infrastructure, water and sanitation, and communications infrastructure.
Today the GI Hub is pleased to reveal the Top 20 teams of InfraChallenge 2021. These 20 innovations, from 13 countries, feature technologies from artificial intelligence and smart cities to data mining and more. What’s next for the Top 20?
This month, each Top 20 team will begin an intensive six-week mentoring program with an infrastructure and innovation expert to build out their idea and pitch for a place in the Top 10.
In June 2021 the Top 10 will be announced. They will have until September 2021 to prepare for the InfraChallenge final and pitch their ideas for the top prize.
About InfraChallenge 2021
Delivered by the GI Hub the annual InfraChallenge competition aims to create a more resilient and quality-focused infrastructure ecosystem for the future. This year, the competition is supported by the Italian G20 Presidency as part of its infrastructure agenda. The winner of InfraChallenge 2021 will receive an AU$50,000 funding package to help implement their solution, as well as other support.
Infrastructure is one of the least technologically transformed sectors, with crucial components like construction ranking second to last in digitisation. Technologically enabled infrastructure has the potential to change the cities we live in and, more importantly, help achieve broader goals around sustainability, social cohesion and inclusive economic growth.
Congratulations to the Top 20 teams and thank you to all applicants for their submissions.
