Following the appointment of Marie Lam-Frendo as CEO in January, the Global Infrastructure Hub has developed a new Business Plan for its four-year mandate from 2019 – 2022.
The Plan operationalises the Strategic Plan that was endorsed by G20 Finance Ministers in July 2018 and sets a clear path for the organisation.
The GI Hub’s mission over the next four years is
To connect the global infrastructure community and share insights to facilitate delivery of G20 members’ economic, social and environmental outcomes through more and better infrastructure
To achieve its mission, the GI Hub’s work will focus on three core topics of
1) Better connecting the infrastructure community;
2) Improving national programs; and,
3) ESG outcomes.
These will be supported by annual campaign topics, which for 2019-2020 will be Inclusive Infrastructure and Digital Infrastructure.
Following approval of the new plan by the GI Hub Board, a new Executive Team has been appointed. Mr. Rob Coffey joins the GI Hub as the Chief Transformation Officer, an interim position combining the responsibilities of the Chief Content Officer and the Chief Operations Officer. Mr. Coffey has over 15 years’ experience working primarily in consulting with the public sector. He has worked extensively across Europe, Asia and the Americas with governments and private organisations, helping to lead large-scale transformations for UK and Australian Government departments, and a range of retail and logistics companies.
Ms. Katharina Surikow has been appointed Acting Head of External Relations, responsible for all communications, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement. Ms. Surikow has been with the GI Hub since 2017, working closely with the senior executive to secure the renewal of the organisation’s mandate and funding and more recently to help drive the organisational renewal. Ms. Surikow brings substantial stakeholder engagement and communications experience to the role, including at the international level, as well as an ongoing interest in the way in which infrastructure can improve lives around the world.
The GI Hub would like to acknowledge Kristina Irish (former Executive Director, Finance and Administration) and Daniel Fedson (former Director, Pipeline) who are leaving the organisation to pursue other opportunities. We thank them both for their contributions to the GI Hub and wish them well for the future.
The GI Hub looks forward to working more closely with our partners and stakeholders to deliver our new plan and achieve the ambitious targets we have set. Further details on the plan can be found here.
