The Global Infrastructure Hub (GI Hub) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Nigeria’s Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) in Abuja, Nigeria.
At the official signing, Morag Baird, Senior Manager of Leading Practices and Policy, said that the GI Hub looks forward to ongoing collaboration between the two organisations.
“Well-targeted and effective infrastructure delivery is essential for meeting the basic needs of people, for achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and in promoting inclusive economic growth,” Ms Baird said.
“We’ve committed to working closely with the ICRC to share knowledge on leading practices in infrastructure planning and policy frameworks, as well as identify future opportunities where collaboration would be beneficial.”
The GI Hub is currently in Abuja to host its Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Workshop, in cooperation with the ICRC and Norton Rose Fulbright.
The MOU was signed in the presence of Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, who earlier officially opened the two-day workshop.
A full summary of the workshop will be released in the coming weeks.
