G20 Leaders endorsed the High Level Principles on Long-Term Investment Financing by Institutional Investors in September 2013, which is intended to help governments facilitate and promote long-term investment by institutional investors. Simultaneously, they asked their Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors to identify approaches to effectively implement these Principles, working with the OECD and other interested participants. This report presents common effective approaches where regulatory, supervisory and industry based measures and practices that have been widely endorsed or adopted in a number of jurisdictions and are considered to effectively implement key aspects of the Principle.
